On the way to 1 year old & new music

“I Won’t Keep You: Short Essays & Little Fictions” will turn one year old in November of this year. As I concoct ways to celebrate and promote this first birthday, we are also on the cusp of celebrating new music by Fizzle Like A Flood.

Doug Kabourek, the man behind the project we here at TCW affectionately refer to as simply “Fizzle,” is an original and, at times, obsessive man of music. Beyond his love of music, Doug also loves haunted houses. The haunted houses of strip malls and abandoned factories; the ones that are as much theater and chainless-chainsaw as they are truly haunted. He loves haunted houses so much that he chose to celebrate the inspiration of a local Omaha haunted house in his new concept album, "Black Walls and William Hall." This 10-song album creates an immersive and positively screamadelic songscape!

While Doug has been releasing music digitally for decades, this is his first foray into pressing an ablum to vinyl. It is truly a work of unique art, from the music and lyrics to the album artwork and the record itself.

The release date is 10/17/25. If you’re in the Omaha area on October 19, come on down to the Reverb at 7 pm for the Listening Party!
